Day 9- Make a gift for daddy
Dan actually reads this blog, so I will keep his gift from the girls a secret.
Day 10- Secret Service
We thought hard about what we could do for someone, but we didn't think hard enough because we didn't do anything. It's not like other places where we can leave something at someone's doorstep (most people live in secured buildings) or clean up their yard (most people don't have yards). We'll just have to get creative.
Any ideas?
Day 11- Our hot chocolate, eggnog party

We had some time with the girls to get the night started. They had warm chocolate, cookies and Hannah tried eggnog. The jury is still out on whether she liked it or not.
We read our Christmas story for the night, and then our friends came over.
They brought this.
It made frothy, perfectly hot, hot chocolate. I might have to get one some day.
We mixed some Ghirardelli with a bit of sipping chocolate-- so rich and delicious!

(You should try hot eggnog spiked with hot chocolate :)
We ate snickerdoodles and other treats, and then we were full and tired of sweets (no, really?) so we played a game.
It was a good night, and I'm so glad we had guests. That's something we don't get to have much of lately.

I like all your Christmas activities! I do have an idea for your service project. It may be too late this year, but if you wanted, next year you and your girls could make some decorations, paper chains, paper snowflakes, & etc. & get permission to decorate an "old folks home". My kids love to make things & decorate.
Sounds yummy ;)
Idea for service, though not so secret: wait in a grocery aisle until a very pregnant, but petite, woman comes along (imagine someone like me) who can't reach something on a higher shelf. She tries, and when no one is watching, she tries harder...but her belly knocks things off the shelf and there she is wondering how she'll ever get that package of dried bread crumbs she desperately needs to make dinner. Then along comes an angel...who easily reaches up and grabs what she needs and hands it to the said woman...ALWAYS appreciated!
Where do you find the time for all of this? You are such a great mom to include your kids in all of the hustle and bustle. I find myself shooing my kids out of the way so I can rush through it all. I need to calm it down and enjoy the season. Thanks for reminding me. =0)
BYW. for some reason I don't think you are getting my emails. kimberlydunn77@gmail.com
